Which bike do girls like

Girls usually like a bike that fits comfortably, feels easy to control and matches their own taste. Choose by measured fit and confidence—not gender or age alone.

Start with what she likes

Ask the rider which colors and overall look she prefers, but do not let appearance decide the size. A bike she is excited to ride matters; so does being able to stand over it, reach the controls and handle it confidently.

Some girls want training wheels while learning, and others are ready for a different setup. Treat that as a question about current skill and comfort, not what girls as a group are supposed to prefer.

Measure before comparing bikes

Measure her height without shoes. Also measure her inseam from the floor to the crotch while she stands straight. Use height to find a starting wheel size, then have her try the actual bicycle. Frame shapes and control positions can differ even when wheel labels match.

During the tryout, check that she can stand over the bicycle, reach the handlebars without stretching, steer without feeling crowded and operate the brakes comfortably. Her feet and body position should give her confidence when starting and stopping. If any of these checks fail, keep comparing rather than assuming she will grow into the bike.

Use wheel size as a starting point

Wheel sizeXBikes age guideRider height
12 InchAges 3–434–40 in / 86–102 cm
14 InchAges 3–637–45 in / 94–114 cm
16 InchAges 4–740–48 in / 102–122 cm
18 InchAges 5–943–52 in / 109–132 cm
20 InchAges 7–1248–60 in / 122–152 cm
24 InchAges 10–1454–64 in / 137–163 cm
26 InchYouth and adultsOver 60 in / 153 cm

The ranges overlap, so age cannot settle the choice. Prioritize measured height and inseam, followed by reach, brake control and present confidence. The American Academy of Pediatrics advises having a child try the bicycle and avoiding an oversized bike bought merely for future growth.

When the supplied bike is relevant

The Girls' Training Wheel Bike by XJD, 12–20 Inch Wheels – Blue is relevant when the rider wants a blue training-wheel bike and her fit check points to one of its supplied labels: 12 Inch, 14 Inch, 16 Inch or 20 Inch. Those four catalog options make it possible to compare several fit starting points within one listed model rather than guessing from the word “girls.”

This product is not an exact option for a rider whose correct starting point is 18 Inch, 24 Inch or 26 Inch. In those cases, its listed sizes are comparison points only, not equivalent substitutes. It is also not automatically appropriate merely because the rider likes blue or wants training wheels; she still needs to try the chosen size and pass the individual control checks.

Compare the available labels correctly

  • 12 Inch: compare first for a measured height of 34–40 in / 86–102 cm.
  • 14 Inch: compare first for 37–45 in / 94–114 cm.
  • 16 Inch: compare first for 40–48 in / 102–122 cm.
  • 20 Inch: compare first for 48–60 in / 122–152 cm.

If her height falls in an overlap, do not automatically choose the larger label. Compare stand-over room, reach, braking and how calmly she starts, turns and stops. A smaller or larger listed option is useful only if the complete fit check supports it.

Check safety and setup before riding

Use a bicycle helmet that fits properly, sits level and has straps adjusted according to the helmet manufacturer's instructions, as advised by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Recheck the helmet whenever fit or strap adjustment changes.

For assembly, maintenance, load limits, compatibility and torque, follow the exact product manual. If instructions are missing, unclear or beyond your experience, use a qualified bicycle mechanic rather than inventing a procedure or setting.

Make the decision

Measure her height and inseam today, identify the matching starting range, and arrange a real fit check. Choose the bike she likes only after she can stand over it, reach and steer naturally, operate the brakes and remain confident. For the supplied XJD bike, continue only if 12, 14, 16 or 20 Inch is supported by those checks; otherwise compare a bicycle in the correctly indicated size.
